Friday Fill-In (#83)

Friday Fill-In. I haven't done any in a few weeks...

*If I could travel back in time, I'd go to the "random" button on the time machine -- I love surprises.

*I am listening to "Morning Edition" on NPR.

*Somewhere, someone is thinking "Yay, I get a day off" (and it's me!).

*I'll always be someone who must produce artful things with my hands.

*And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to Tommie & Cortney visiting for dinner, tomorrow my plans include working and a birthday party in the evening for my parents and Sunday, I want to relax!

On the Eve of Friday...

Friday Fill-In #77

1. A smile is a lovely way to light up your face.
2. Good old-fashioned Monopoly is my favorite board or card game.
3. I would love to have more time in my life (I know that doesn't quite work grammatically) and less stress.
4. When I think of the Summer Solstice, I think of Stonehenge and A Mid-Summer Night's Dream.
5. I just remembered I need to go to bed soon.
6. One of my favorite song lyrics goes like this: "the magic's in the music and the music's in me."*
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to sewing, tomorrow my plans include working (always on Saturdays... the busiest day at a winery) and Sunday, I want to do some gardening!

*Another favorite:
In this world you've a soul for a compass
And a heart for a pair of wings
There's a star on the far horizon, rising bright in an azure sky
For the rest of the time that you're given, why walk when you can fly.

Friday Fill-In (#76)

It's Friday again...

1. Travel is high up on my bucket list. So much of my 'bucket list' was wrapped up in building my dream house. And I'm so lucky to have it... well, as much as my budget would ever allow, anyway.
2. My favorite quote is:
"Pooh!" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you.";
it's from Winnie the Pooh. (It's so hard to choose -- there are many, many quotes I love.)
3. A swap (SP11) inspired (um.. actually, required) me to start blogging.
4. Strawberries are best local and fresh.
6. The most enjoyable time to go for a walk is early morning or just before dusk.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to starting a new knitting project, tomorrow my plans include work -- an all-day wine festival (but I'm bringing my knitting 'cause it's World Wide Knit in Public day) and Sunday, I want to veg (but it never seems to work out that way)!

Friday Fill-In (#75)

I've gotten hooked on these... Friday Fill-Ins are a fun, quick way to write a bit about yourself. I tend to write about what I'm working on, so this is good for me. This way, I am giving y'all a better picture of "Heather."

1. Idle hands are not my usual "MO," but occasionally a nice way to relax.
2. I love lingering in the shower. We've got a BIG water heater -- it's a dangerous thing.
3. My favorite time of the day is when I get home from work and the evening belongs to me.
4. The last tea I drank was Earl Grey. I'm drinking a cup of it right now!
5. I like to visit my family's northern Ontario cabin in the Summer.
6. My mother always said "'hey' is for horses."
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m [/looking forward to] grocery shopping, tomorrow my plans include working at a day-long Michigan winetasting event at the very fancy Papa Joe's Gourmet Market in Rochester Hills and Sunday, I want to take the day off!

Friday Fill-In (#74)

I'm currently at home waiting to hear about an event at the winery tonight. With the threat of 2-4 inches of rain and thunderstorms, I think it might be best if we postponed...

In the meantime, here's my latest Friday Fill-In.

1. For me negativity is the opposite of creativity.
2. "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" was the last excellent book I read (actually, I'm currently reading it).
3. I like fill-ins because they're quick, interesting, and force me to post in my blog.
4. In nature I like looking at everything.
5. _____ should win the US elections. (I'll wait to answer -- I'm a pretty private person when it comes to politics and religion.)
6. The last time I laughed with all my belly was last night.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to [I'm not sure right now... see above], tomorrow my plans include the Festival of the Senses at Dow Gardens in Midland (until very late... for me, at least) and Sunday, I want to take the day off!

Blogging/Friday Fill In (#73)

I've been a neglectful blogger lately. That should change soon because I've signed up for two swaps that require that I post to my blog at least once a week. Good! I do much better with a deadline...

I know it's not Friday, but I've decided to participate in "Friday Fill Ins." Rather than waiting 'til the end of the week, I'll start now...

1. On my laziest day I like to read & knit, then knit & read! (Unfortunately it doesn't happen very often.)

2. Crossing tasks off a list makes me feel like I'm being productive.

3. I love little surprises and big squeezy hugs.

4. This summer I want to eat local as much as possible.

5. Joining the Secret Pal 11 swap made me start my blog.

6. Red, teal, and orange are gorgeous together.

Answering these questions is a nice way to learn more about each other!
